Spring has sprung!

So many big changes for this year. I have been working so much at the bakery. Things have been so busy. I just finished the new spring menu. Which is full of all kinds of yummy salads, including local goat cheese and my own olive tapenade. This week we were excited to find out that there will be a new addition to our happy family! Issaic is so excited to finally have a sibling. It is so great to see Stan all smiles. I couldn't be happier. We have been so lucky to live the past year at the family farm. It is time for us to have some more space. We have found a cute house down the road (which is on the lake.) With an amazing view of the white mountains from our living room. I can't wait to start entertaining and cooking! 2011 is going to be a great year!

Start to the new year!

Well the tree is down and family has gone home. We have officially been our house for a year. It was kind of a let down after all the hoop-la was over.

But 2011 is off to a great start. Stan's webpage on Etsy is doing amazing. I love reading all the feedbacks we are getting. It is nice to see how much people love his work. We were planning on it slowing down after the Holidays. To our surprise, it has been a great week!!

Issaic has gotten the bug for vintage and thrit shopping. We found some great pieces this weekend for our vintage website. Can't wait to get them on the website. We found everything from vintage avon bottles to japanese squirrles to 50's beer glasses. Stan was like a kid in the candy shop.

We have started planning our road trip to Florida. DC is on the list for stops. I can't wait to bring Issaic to the muesums there. We have started to plot where all the flea markets are along the way. It will be so nice to see Stan's family.

Stan has been working hard in his new shop. Lots of great things are coming out of there! Maine Spoons, rolling pins, wok spoons & a lot more to come. It is so great having him work from the farm. No more long drives to Dave's house. Just a few more tools and his shop will be complete.

I enjoy the smell, when he is working. It is a combination of sawdust and the woodstove. Reminds me of when my Grandfather would work out there. I took some photos of unfinished work. The colors of the woods are great. I love the reds and purples. Recently he has been working with wood from Africa.

Back from the unknown

So, we are all rested up from our super busy year. Moving, wedding, family & friends!! We couldn't have asked for better weather. The leaves have gone and we are ready for our first storm. Stan and I think we are more equipped to deal with life on the farm this year.

Gram is getting pies ready for Thanksgiving. It smells so good. Guess, I might have to take a break from my Gluten- free diet.

Stan has got his workshop up and running in the back barn. He is excited to start working. Photos of his work to follow.

First Friday Art Opening

It is finally finished. The full scale Akira Bike is in the window at Eli Phant. ( 253 Congress st. Portland, Maine) It looks great! Everytime we go by there are people outside looking at it. Tonight we are heading back down to Portland for the opening from 5-8. It will be great to see everyone and have a glass or two wine. Maybe tomorrow we will go search for some new belt buckles!
